buildingSMART International welcomes Mass Transit Railway (MTR) as a Standard member.
London, U.K. - February 23, 2022 - buildingSMART International is delighted to welcome Mass Transit Railway (MTR) as a Standard member. MTR is a major public transport network serving Hong Kong. Operated by the MTR Corporation Limited, it consists of heavy rail, light rail, and feeder bus service centred on a 10-line rapid transit network serving the urbanised areas of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories.
MTR enable cities and people to move forward by connecting communities with their services. Their role and purpose are to create long-term, sustainable value for all their stakeholders, customers, employees, supply chains and the community.
By joining buildingSMART International, MTR aims to advance the development of international and national rail standards and to further develop the use of the buildingSMART Data Dictionary (bSDD) for their terms and types and to develop specific use cases for their domain. Roger Bayliss, Capital Works Director of MTR considers membership and participation in the works of buildingSMART International “an important step for the Corporation in further development of its digital capabilities by moving towards open digital standards, boosting research into smarter ways of working and connecting with international community of top digital design and construction professionals”.
